Independence Day of India 2019
Independence Day of India is a National Festival of our nation that is commemorated every year on 15th of August. It is a day of great significance and a proud moment for the citizens of India. India got freedom from the British rule, on this day in 1947 after long years of slavery. It has been declared as the National and Gazetted Holiday all over the country, to celebrate the independence our leaders and freedom fighters got from the British Empire on 15th of August in 1947.
It was not easy at all for India to get freedom from British rule. Many of our freedom fighters, political leaders and the people of India have sacrificed their lives in attaining the freedom for their future generations without worrying about their life.

This year in 2019, India will celebrate its 73rd Independence Day which falls on Thursday. On the 15th of August 2019, we all will celebrate this special day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters, who had specified their life and comfort and fought for the Independence of India.
What is Special on 73rd India’s Independence Day 2019
- Our honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Ji appealed to the people to provide some valuable suggestions through the Namo App for his Independence Day speech.
- In Jammu and Kashmir state, Panchayat Heads of Bharatiya Janata Party will hoist the flag of our country in their houses.
- All schools of North Delhi Municipal Corporation will display photos of the present President and the Prime Minister of India.
- Article 370 was scrapped from Jammu and Kashmir by the Government of India on 5th August 2019.
- In Chandani Chowk, New Delhi, 300 meters of pedestrian-friendly walk away will be open for shoppers.
- On 73rd Independence Day, Banaras Hindu University will go completely paperless.
- On 18 August, New York's India Day Parade will be organized. In this, the American-Indian community will commemorate the sacrifice and valor of the Indian soldiers.
- Chhattisgarh on 11 August 2019 set a new world record by unfurling world's longest Tri-Colour flag of about 4.5 km length which was supported by a chain of thousands of people in Raipur.
- For the first time, in J&K Indian flag will be hoisted on 73rd Independence Day of India. So, BJP has announced this event as "Jashn-e-Azad".
- On 73rd Independence Day of India, the Lieutenant colonel and Indian Cricket Player Mahendra Singh Dhoni will unfurl Indian Nation Flag on Leh.
