How big is your 8 weeks baby?

Your baby is just the size of a kidney bean. It’s head is bigger than the trunk and is best to her chest. The facial features are getting defined slowly. Nerve cells on the brain are branching out. A lot has happened to your baby’s body till now. The embryonic tail is finally off. Remember, now your baby is growing about 1 mm daily.

Pregnancy Belly Week 8

Even in the 8th week, there are no signs visible on your belly. For those pregnant first time will not have any tummy till week 12. However, inside your uterus is growing. You will be gaining a little bit weight though.

Pregnancy Ultrasound Week 8

By now, it is safe for you to avoid an ultrasound. But week 8 is the time when you should see your baby. You may be surprised to see the hands, legs and moving body of your child. Though you can’t feel it, but it is happening inside you.

Your baby’s toes and fingers are getting webbed and her taste buds are developing. You may also undergo some blood tests during week 8 to check your white and red blood cells level and check for any abnormalities and infections. It is also advisable to go for a urine test to check your glucose level.

Pregnancy Lifestyle Week 8

Now you need to take care of yourself as well as your growing baby. Thus, it is very important to give up smoking and alcohol. Do not go for any recreational drugs as well as over the counter medications.

It is very important to follow a healthy diet which is rich in vitamins and folic acid. Consult your health provider with regards to supplement consumptions.

You should also do some moderate exercising for at least half an hour like walking, yoga etc.

Avoid food which cause gut problems. Make sure you consume a lot of fiber to avoid problem of constipation.
