How big is your 6 weeks baby?

Well, your baby is just as big as the size of a sweet pea or a lentil. It measures just 0.25 inches from head to toe. It is very tiny, but your baby has doubled in size comparing to last week. The baby is in fetal position in a C-shape, with arched back and little tail and paddle legs stuck in.

Pregnancy Belly Week 6

In the week 6 of your pregnancy, it is very likely that your body still appears to be the same as it was. Though your baby is growing at a fast rate, but your body needs it’s time to make the adjustments to welcome the new guest. The baby is still very small and hence there is no bump seen.

Pregnancy Symptoms Week 6

Though you may feel just like the same from the outside, but inside you may feel bloated, food cravings and more. These are the early signs of pregnancy. You may have to pee in every five minutes. Some of the symptoms that 6 weeks pregnant ladies experience are:

Breast tenderness: No, it is not your imagination. Your breasts are getting bigger and nipples more pointed.

Fatigue: Your body is developing a child, so surely it will get exhausted. Listen to your body calls and do as it demands. You can join a yoga or meditation class for relaxation and to get yourself better sleep.

Nausea and vomiting: You may get sick at the sight of scrambled eggs or you may just dislike lunch and dinner stuff. Nausea and vomiting are very common during pregnancy. It is because your belly is highly sensitive and cannot take up anything it doesn’t want.

Bloating: This goes to the progesterone flying in your body. Remember to consume a lot of fibers and have lots and lots of water to avoid constipation.

Apart from this, you may experience changing emotions, fatigue, frequent urination and change in appetite.

Pregnancy Ultrasound Week 6

If you are really impatient to witness your tadpole, then still you won’t be able to see it now. Unless you have any risks involved, your doctors will not suggest you to get an ultrasound done till week 8 or 9 of your pregnancy. However, your 6 week pregnancy ultrasound will reveal how many babies you are carrying.

Pregnancy Lifestyle Week 6

Apart from changing your diet and physical activities, you and your partner should adopt a healthy lifestyle and give up habits like caffeine, alcohol consumption, cigarette and drugs. You also need to check whether you need any medications during this week of pregnancy or not.

Exercise regularly but do not overexert yourself. Drink lots and lots of water and have fibers for easy digestion. Also stay away from unpasteurized dairy items, eggs, meat, trans fat and harsh chemicals.

Pregnancy Checklist Week 6

  • For tender breasts, sport a supportive bra
  • Fight morning sickness with ice packs, small meals at small intervals and herbal tea.
  • Discuss about your maternity leave policy with your company
  • Make healthy lifestyle changes
  • Go for your first prenatal visit and get some tests done to find your iron level, blood type and RH factor.
